As you can see, subjects located in shade do not suffer from the ghastly hot spots and featureless shadows that plague photos of subjects in direct light. In fact, this image is pretty good as is! However, with a little work, we can make it even better.

This image was shot at f/11 at .4 seconds in AV (aperture priority) mode.
